Lake Erie is the 10th largest freshwater lake on Earth, and
one of the 5 Great Lakes. Lake Erie has a surface area
of over 9,900 square miles and an average depth of 60 feet, with a
maximum depth of 212 feet. Lake Erie is primarily fed by
the Detroit River (from Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair) and
drains via the Niagara River and Niagara Falls into Lake
Ontario.

The western end
of Lake Erie is the known as the "Walleye Capital of the
World," producing more Walleye per hectare than any other lake
in the world.
Lake Erie anglers target Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Yellow
Perch, Rainbow Trout, Steelhead and White Bass.
Lake Erie Fishing Report
Ice anglers are still taking some nice perch in the Metro Park
Marina however, be ready to sort out the small ones. Shiner
minnows on pink or gold tear drops were taking fish. Fair to
good perch action out near the Banana Dike when using Russian
hooks with shiners, wax worms or wigglers.
