Lake Superior is the world's second
largest lake, and the world's largest freshwater lake.
With a surface area of
31,700 square miles and a maximum depth of 1,332 feet, Lake
Superior contains as much water as all other Great Lakes
combined.
Lake Superior features many scenic areas including:
The Apostle Islands, Isle Royale National Park, Lake
Superior Provincial Park, Grand Island National Recreation
Area and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Lake Superior is also known for great
Salmon and Trout fishing. Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon
and Pink Salmon are all abundant in Lake Superior.
Water flows into Lake Superior from many small rivers and
streams providing great fishing for shore anglers.
Fishing on the St. Mary's river for Salmon is usually
excellent in the fall. Trout fishing on Lake Superior
is also strong for Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Steelhead
Trout and Lake Trout.
Lake Superior Fishing Report
Anglers going out on Lake Superior are encountering fair to good
fishing, especially in water about 120 to 140 feet deep. Anglers caught lake
trout, coho salmon and Chinook salmon in these areas, although the fish were
higher in the water column. Most anglers were trolling with planer boards or
vertical jigging. Lake trout ranged from 16 to 25 inches, cohos ranged from17
to 19 inches and Chinooks ranged from 17 to 27 inches.
